Moving Interstate Checklist 1

There are certain things that you need to remember when getting ready for a big move.

Here is the first of three important checklists you can use to make sure you move goes smoothly.

- It is always best to make sure you have forwarded your mail and, not only let your family and friends know that you are moving but, fill your creditors in as well. If not, you run the risk of your bills being lost in the mail, which can led to serious overdue charges.

- Give yourself plenty of time to pack! You may not think it will take you that long, but you also may not realize how much stuff you actually have when it is all in its proper place.

You should start packing the items you use least often first, preferably 3-4 weeks in advance. Save the items you use on a regular basis for the last day. Pack most of the dishes up a week in advance and leave out just a few to use or buy disposables.

- If currently renting, make sure you are aware of any obligations that you have outlined in your contract with the property owner. Sometimes there will be stipulations on your security deposit, such as you may be required to have the carpets professional cleaned before your move.

- Keep track of any moving expenses that you incur and paper work that you receive if there is a chance you might be reimbursed for them, such as if your employer is relocating you.

Furniture removals Checklist 2

More moving tips in a checklist that you can use!

Be sure not to leave anything out and take heed of items that require advance notice, you may want to begin weeks in advance. - Reserve a time slot with the removalist company in advance if possible, especially during heavy moving seasons. If you wait until the last minute, it may be more difficult for you to move within the time you were expecting. -

Make sure you pack your belongings securely.

The last thing you need is for an important or expensive item to get broke. Moving is stressful enough without the added worry! So, be sure to sufficiently package all breakables in bubble wrap and use masking tape to secure box tops and bottoms. - Check out schools and daycares earlier before your move.

It may take a lot of time and research to find the right one. If you are moving only a few hours away from your current location you might even want to make a special trip to check out the ones on your short list. - Make sure you ask your current physician and pediatrician for referrals in your new town or city.

Although they may not know anyone personally, they may be able to give you pointers on what to look for in potential practitioners. Make your choice in plenty of time before your move so the office staff has a sufficient amount of time to transfer your files. -

Make sure you have backup files available before preparing your desktop computer for a move. Anything can happen when it comes to technology, so back up files are always good to have on hand in any instance.

3rd Checklist for your upcoming removal

The last of our easy to use moving checklists.

Here you will find more useful reminders.

- Moving can be difficult but it can be a great chance to get rid of things that you do not need.

Most people are “pack rats” of some sort. You can even have a yard sale or donate unwanted clothing, shoes, and other useable items. Throw away papers that you no longer need but are piling up.

- Cancel all of your memberships or monthly services. For example, cable TV, your gym membership, or internet service. Some require you to let them know a certain amount of time in advance that you will be cancelling your service or you will be charged for an extra month.

This may be especially important if you use automatic payments.

- Take down your garage door opener and lock the door manually.

- You need to make changes to anything that has an address on it. This includes notifying your insurance company. You may not need to switch companies but they may need to print you out a new set of cards that reflect your address change.

- If you are flying to your new location make sure you can bring your pets on the airplane with you or make other advance arrangements for them to get to their new home!

Moving can be overwhelming but, if you take it one step at a time, the hard part will be over before you know it. Our checklists can help with that, just print them out and get cracking!
