Moving Interstate
Checklist 1.

There are certain things that you need to remember
when getting ready for a big move.
Here is the first of three important checklists you can use
to make sure you move goes smoothly.
- It is always best to make sure you have forwarded your
mail and, not only let your family and friends know that you
are moving but, fill your creditors in as well. If not, you
run the risk of your bills being lost in the mail, which can
led to serious overdue charges.
- Give yourself plenty of time to pack! You may not think
it will take you that long, but you also may not realize how
much stuff you actually have when it is all in its proper
place.
You should start packing the items you use least often first,
preferably 3-4 weeks in advance. Save the items you use on
a regular basis for the last day. Pack most of the dishes
up a week in advance and leave out just a few to use or buy
disposables.
- If currently renting, make sure you are aware of any obligations
that you have outlined in your contract with the property
owner. Sometimes there will be stipulations on your security
deposit, such as you may be required to have the carpets professional
cleaned before your move.
- Keep track of any moving expenses that you incur and paper
work that you receive if there is a chance you might be reimbursed
for them, such as if your employer is relocating you.
